Cloveworks uses the models built into macOS 26 for text, vision, and speech. There is no account, no server, no telemetry, and no network access in normal use. The privacy statement in Settings is one sentence because there's nothing else to say.
Optional, off by default. If a file is too long for the on-device model, you can paste your own Anthropic or OpenAI key and let Summarize send that file's extracted text to them. Cloveworks shows a cloud icon on the slice before you drop, and records every such call on the job.
Rename is the only thing that changes an original, and it's undoable. Everything else creates new files next to it.

Cloveworks isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks once.
- Open the DMG and drag Cloveworks to Applications.
- Double-click it. When macOS says it can't verify the developer, click Done.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, click Open Anyway.
Every launch after that is normal, and updates install in place.
Questions
- Which Macs does it run on?
- Apple silicon Macs on macOS 26 Tahoe or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on. Intel Macs can't run the on-device models, so Cloveworks doesn't run on them.
- Does it need Accessibility permission?
- No. The gesture is detected from ordinary drag events, so there's no permission prompt at launch. Transcription asks for Speech Recognition the first time you use it on a Mac that needs the older speech engine.
- Where does the Option key come from?
- Finder treats ⌥-drag as "copy", so it never fights the gesture. You can switch the trigger to Control or Command in Settings.
- What about big files?
- Long PDFs and recordings are chunked and summarized in passes. Files over about 500 MB show a "this may take a while" note in the menu before you drop.
- Can I undo a rename?
- Yes, every job in the menu bar has an Undo button. Rename restores the old name; other actions move what they created to the Trash.
- Why does macOS say it can't verify the developer?
- Because the app isn't notarized with Apple yet. It's the same app either way; notarization is a $99/year registration that Cloveworks will pick up as it grows. Until then, the one-time Open Anyway step above is all it takes, and you can check the download against the published SHA-256 checksum.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. One payment, license key, done. A license covers 1, 3, or 5 Macs depending on the tier.
